Let's be fwends: Time for a throwback!
All the good stuff, revisited.

Two newsletters ago, I wrote about how crows are totally badass and will probably take over the world. After seeing these pecs on that owl, I'm not so sure anymore.

Welcome to issue 7 of Let's be Fwends!

It’s been a while (I told you I would experiment with the schedule …), and the last two newsletters brought up a whole host of topics, so I thought it would be nice to do a little follow up on some of the subjects.
In this issue I'll pick up some themes from past newsletters and try to add to them, or look at them from different angles.

Big corporations talking to kids

Remember the last time when I wrote about Facebook being real jerks for selling depressed kids data to advertisers?

Capitalism, right? *Rolleyes*

Yeah. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Watch one of the Icons of capitalism, consumerism and everything that is weird on this planet talking to kids who are having a hard time.

Who would have thought? Not me.

User interfaces revisited

„Hey, let’s think about this differently!“ is a common starting point for designing innovative user interfaces.

Sometimes, „yeah, well, let’s not.“ is the appropriate answer.

This, and a thousand more redesigns of the volume control over at reddit.

With a best-of over at Designer News to wet your appetite.

Hey, I told you I love maps, didn’t I?

Sasha Trubetskoy does, too, and he made this wonderful map of all the major roads in the Roman Empire, ca. 125 AD.
(I also love cross-overs)

Map your last ride in AR.

Speaking of maps and user interfaces - Adam Debreczeni created this really nice augmented reality map of his bike ride.

Will robots take your job?

I dunno.

All I’m saying is that even the pro cyclists aren’t safe from automation.

That’s it from this edition of Let’s be Fwends. Quite a mixed bag, but I hope you enjoyed it nonetheless. Please think about the last time you high-fived yourself, then high-five yourself and compare the experiences. Share your thoughts if you feel like it. 🙌🏽
Enjoy what you see? Please recommend this newsletter to someone who might enjoy it equally. Thanks!
